What is Escarglo-needling?

The Escarglo-needling combines the anti-aging properties of snail extract with the collagen-inducing microneedling treatment.  This purified snail secretion is applied during and after the micro-needling to increase penetration and effectiveness. Snails have been used for centuries for their unique healing properties that are attributed to the peptides and growth factors of the snail. Growth factors are proven to show a significant increase in the amount of collagen and elastin production in the skin and a reduced downtime when combined with micro-needling.  

What is the Principal Behind Escarglo-needling?

Many years ago, in the early 1900’s, people observed that a particular type of snail (Cryptomphalus aspersa) has the ability to heal from almost any injury in less than 48 hours. Snail secretions, containing growth factors, glycoproteins and antioxidants, have  been shown to help repair, maintain and protect human skin. After the nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl in 1986, these powerful substances were used to heal the most severe radiation burns with tremendous success. How Often Should I Get Treatments?

Our goal is to keep those fibroblasts awake and busy making collagen. One procedure causes a collagen response that lasts up to 6 months. We recommend a series of 4-6 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart. This way each time the fibroblasts get a bigger boost and continue making collagen longer. One series per year can keep your dermis in shape, able to spring back when gravity pulls. What Do I Need to Know Before and After My Treatment?

• • You must discontinue any exfoliating products including alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) serums, scrubs, retinol night creams and topical prescriptions (Triluma, Retin-A, Tretinoin, etc…) for at least 5 days prior to and 5 days after your treatment (or until your skin is healed).
• • You must avoid wearing any makeup until your skin is healed after your treatment.
• • And it is very important to apply sunscreen daily after this treatment, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun’s damaging rays
